Hecklers tend to be a part of many performances—stand up comedy, improv acts, and, of course, magic shows. Poor magicians are just trying to show everyone a good time, give them a little razzle dazzle, but there is always at least one heckler. That person in the audience that that tends to be a little drunk but always has the audacity to make the illusion not as fun for everybody. They like calling out every little slip up the magician makes. Imagine working at an office job and there is someone there who gives you sh*t every time you do a typo or are late to a meeting. That would be SO annoying.
A person on Reddit shared a story of petty revenge that their magician dad dished out to a heckler in his audience. The dad did magic as a hobby, just a little something he liked to do that made him happy. Nothing fancy, just some close-up slight-of-hand tricks that always puts a smile on peoples' faces and garners a little golf clap. The magician dad wasn't looking for his name in lights or anything, and yet this drunk heckler would not leave him alone to live his life. The heckler got to the point where the magician couldn't even be heard anymore because he was shout over him. So the magician did what he does best, a magic trick, but this time it was at the expense of the heckler. You'd think a magic trick that ended with a piece of knotted up string in your drink wouldn't be much, but it absolutely humiliated this heckler, and he shut up for the rest of the show.
