This employee needs to recognize that their coworker very much did this to himself. When you're rude to someone in the office, whether it's a superior, or an equal, or especially if it's someone below your standing on the totem pole, your behavior deserved to be called out. So as far as we are concerned, the employee did the right thing.

When HR noticed that OP was visibly upset and asked what was wrong, OP told the truth. It wasn't an act of revenge; it was just the straight-up truth of what happened. So when the entitled coworker got suspended, he had no one to blame but himself.
