Perhaps one of the worst manifestations of TikTok is that it serves the same function for Gen Z that Facebook does for Boomers. It's an app that they're addicted to where many will believe almost anything you tell them if you spoon feed it in an authoritative enough way. If misinformation on the internet was terrible before, it's the complete pits now.
Still, let's be honest — sometimes lying online can be quite funny. Also, sometimes truth genuinely is stranger than fiction. For better or worse, TikTok is great at showcasing both of these things. It makes for some entertaining and/or worrying screenshots, that are enough to baffle even the most hardened TikTok addict. It never fails to surprise, that's for sure. They may be raising more questions than answers, but in some of these situations, maybe we shouldn't be asking questions at all. It's probably what's for the best.
