Yesterday morning, I made a horrible decision that changed the trajectory of my whole week. I decided to wear my brand new Doc Martens to work to begin breaking them in. I knew it would be painful, but I didn't think it would be "pathetically hobbling home from the train" painful. Who knew that walking twelve blocks in total could absolutely annihilate the skin on your heel? I guess not me because I'm still feeling it today.
I cannot imagine having one of those jobs that require you to wear painful shoes all the time. I love a high heel, but now that I have to walk everywhere, the appeal has gone away completely. If you make the poor choice to wear a tortuous shoe on a day when you have to walk at all in NYC, then you might need some memes to distract you from your foot pain.
