This might be a hot take, but getting older is good. You get to grow out of some things you were obsessed with as a kid, which can be sad in some cases, but not all. When I was a tween, I was obsessed with eating Nutella with a spoon right out of the jar. It was such a problem that my sister had to put sticky notes on the Nutella jars demanding I don't chow it down in less than a day. That's the kind of freaky shit only a child can do successfully. Now, I can't even eat a Nutella crepe without recovering on the couch for an hour.
Transitioning from young adulthood to middle age is tougher. Instead of growing out of gross and unhealthy habits, you grow out of partying and having fun all the time. Luckily, you're not alone, and other adults pushing 50 are going through the same thing.
