Calico Cat Plays Hard-to-Get With the New Golden Retriever Puppy, the Two End Up Unexpected Besties

It's always nerve wracking to introduce a new pet to the family dynamic of your home zoo. Some folks decide to simply rip the bandaid off and throw two animals together, hoping for the best, even if they're natural-born enemies. That's exactly what one couple did when they adopted a 1 year old cat and an 8 week old golden retriever puppy at the same time.

Meet Nash and Nala, two frenemies who ended up becoming accidental besties against all odds. Everybody knows that cattos don't always get along with their doggie counterparts, especially if they're a clumsy, gooberish flop dog like a Golden. Welp, for Nala, this gentle calico, Nash was the perfect PB to her Jelly and the two melted together to form the most perfect furball. 

Their friendship started slowly, with Nala backed into a corner with a pupper coming right at her at his full, graceless speed. She warily pawed at him, claws hidden, before realizing that Nash was completely harmless. 

The two quickly meshed and became one in the same. In fact, even though there were two other kitties in the house, Nash globbed onto Nala like a surrogate sister and the pair became inseparable. Pet fantasies do come true!

Although Nash has since grown to be 15 times the size of sweet Nala, he remains incredibly gentle and kind with her. Even when he's excitedly romping around the house or shoving her entire head in his mouth (fromph!), she's never afraid of him or wary in any way. 

First day they met

Now that they're both grown, these besties are ready to tackle the world and everything in it. Now all they need is a harness tether for Nala to waer so that these two can go on fantastical walks in the park together. Until the day they can tackle the outside, you can find Nash and Nala cuddled in a ball on the couch, grooming each other and living their best lives. Either way, we know for sure that adopting these two BB's at the same time was the right call.
