Buried-Alive Doggo Gets Trapped in Shoreside Rocks Then Rescued by Good Samaritans, Narrowly Escaping Rising Tides and Certain Demise

If you've ever had a dog that was an escape artist, you're always on the lookout for ways that your pooch can hop the fence, slip through the front door, or jimmy an unlocked window in order to break free into the outside world. However, if you're not familiar with padlocking and childproofing all of the orifices of your house, you might accidentally have a runaway doggo on your hands. One family in San Francisco had their beloved English Spaniel run away from home only to come home with the most harrowing story.

This is Gwen, a one year old pooch who got her wild hair satisfied when she ran away from home recently. However, Gwen almost didn't make it back. After escaping her family home nearly 6 miles away, Gwen dashed west towards the sea and somehow got trapped amidst the rocks, precariously awaiting the rising tide and total submersion.

She was trapped for several hours and was only found on this isolated beach because a jogger was on their run and heard her cries seeming to come from nowhere. He looked around for a while before he saw Gwen's furry face peeking up at him from inside the shore-protecting boulders that border the California coastline. The jogger immediately called anima control and an officer rushed to the scene.

Nobody knows how Gwen got trapped inside the rocky prison, but they speculate that she was gallivanting over the top of one of the boulders when it gave way, sliding her into a crevice and sealing up the top. Rescuers had to physically remove several heavy boulders before being able to pull Gwen free. They raced against the clock as the tide rolled in and splashed at their backs, threatening sweet Gwen's cubbyhole.

Fortunately, rescuers were not only able to free Gwen, but they also returned her to her family in a matter of hours. Because her family had called her in missing, they located them almost immediately. We doubt that little Gwen will have an adventure like this ever again and hope that she has no desire to repeat the rebellious mistake of running away from home. It's not safe out there for a little baby.

Although she was terrified and cold when she got home, we're sure her family welcomed her back with open arms, a big bowl of kibbles, and a warm bath. Perhaps they've since put locks on all the doors and are considering fortifying the backyard fence. No more Gwen-dini escapades.
