We love a wholesome tale when the underestimated employee surpasses expectations. This employee was tasked with making a plan for a small business as part of his job at the non-governmental organization that administered a grant to said business. Yet despite voicing the fact that he felt unqualified to make such a plan, he went ahead and did it anyway. In fact, not only did he complete the plan, but also he discovered some major discrepancies along the way.
Yes, this Redditor actually became a sort of whistleblower in the process of doing his job. He realized that he was likely given this task because they assumed he wouldn't be able to complete it in a detail-oriented fashion and that he wouldn't catch these discrepancies. But how wrong they were! Even though he was ultimately fired for calling out these issues, he thankfully never got warped into this shady behavior.
