"1 month progress of Coco, the kitten who was found covered in adhesive."
"I found her thinking he was just covered in oil then a lady told me some kids glued her to something on Saturday (it's now Monday morning on my timezone).
I followed the steps here and repeated steps 3-5 multiple times already but 50% of the glue just won't come off.
She's malnourished and was already really weak when I picked her up and she's just getting weaker by time.
This is my first time doing this and I think I'm way over my head."

"Hey man, thanks for the advice. I removed 99% of the glue with coconut oil and some light brushing using a sponge."

"UPDATE:
I took Coco to the vet and she was positive of FCV. I already bought her medicines. She also needs to get checked again in 7 days."

"UPDATE 2:
Rushed Coco back to the vet because she was having a really hard time breathing. After the nebulizer a lot of snot came out and she's now breathing normally. Sorry no pics of that since I was holding her.
She's 0.4 kg or 0.8 pounds and is about 2 months old. So yeah, she is smol.
Coco just ate and as a lot of you suggested only small portions.
Coco about to take her meds. 2 for her FCV, 1 for an immune system boost, and an eye drop.
Coco purrs
She's not out of the danger zone yet, but she's a fighter.
Thank you for your kind words and generousity from Coco and me."

"UPDATE 3:
Do we have any kitten experts here? My biggest concern right now is she's warm/hot to the touch. The vet said she was 0.3 degrees celsius above the normal temperature. I put a heat compress under a blanket for her to sleep on, was it a mistake? What should I do?
She's fairly energetic and wants to be on my lap whenever I'm in the room"

"UPDATE 4:
Woke up to eat. Fed her a small portion of wet food with added water. She ate all of it.
Keeping watch on her since sometimes her snot comes out and blocks her nose so I have to clean it.
She had trouble breathing while in her sleep but it was only for a few minutes.
u/lumnitzera is in the same country as me and is a few cities away offered to lend her kitties nebulizer to Coco. She will be sending it come morning. This will help greatly since we might need to use a nebulizer on Coco 2-3 times a day and going to and from the vet takes a long time.
I'm still bothered by the adhesive near her eyes but it will have to wait since giving her a bath might weaken her."

"UPDATE 5:
She ate and had her meds. Took me 15 minutes to give her all 4 of her meds. She's surprisingly strong if she doesn't want to take her meds.
She always actions to suck the blanket but never does it. Should I buy her kitten formula and feed it via a baby bottle?
…Fun fact: Her claws are really sharp. The vet already trimmed it yesterday but it's still really sharp lol."

"UPDATE 6:
Bought some of her supplies today, not all of it yet since I can't leave her for too long, so I bought the important ones.
Recieved the nebulizer from u/lumnitzera a few hours ago. He/she lent this to Coco so that we don't have to go to the vet everytime she needs a nebulizer. Thank you.
Coco eating - increased the portion by a bit and she finished it all.
Bought the tiniest litter box and removed the side guards. She still hasn't used it though.
Bought pet safe wipes and cleaned her face. I thought it was leftover adhesive at first but it wasn't, so I was able to remove almost all of it in 30 minutes.
Her mucus discharge really stinks. I thought I had gotten used to it until she sneezed in front of my face lol."

"UPDATE 7:
She finally pooped! - NS*W - has poop on video
We're still going back to the vet today though. Have some questions with her deworming and vaccinations in the future.
Also, it always amazes me how cats know where to poop/pee once you've set up a litter box.
Edit: She has now also peed in her litter box.
Edit 2: Saw her groom herself for the first time. She stopped before I could record it though."

"Update 8:
Went to the vet earlier today. The vet said Coco improved a lot since he last saw her 2 days ago.
He did not advice giving de-worming medicine to Coco until she finishes her current medicines (7 days) and then get checked up again. That'll be 4/24. For her vaccines, it will be 7 days after being given de-worming meds, so 5/1 is the soonest. Spay/neuter will be once she's old enough.
First nebulizer session at home - the vet said another 2-3 nebulizer sessions and she should be good. She also doesn't stink of mucus anymore.
Biscuits and Loaf
The vet said he can't make sure if Coco is male or female since she's still too young. I was the one who assumed she was female. I also assumed my other cat to be female for the first six months until he clearly displayed his balls infront of my face lol. So yeah, Coco could be male. I'll keep referring to her as a female until we find out what her gender is."

"UPDATE 9:
It's been 4 days since I picked up Coco. Though her fight is not yet over, she's doing so much better now. Except for her medicines and nebulizer session, she pretty much did what a healthy cat does in a day. She slept, ate, pooped (2 times), and played.
…She's on her way to a 100% recovery and we will be pretty much doing the same thing everyday until her next vet visit on 4/24 so I'll only be updating once a day until then. I'll be posting videos and pictures of her a few times a day on my profile so you can check on her, but I won't be editing the "update" thread here.
Thank you everyone for loving Coco ?"

"Update 10:
Went to the vet earlier today for her scheduled follow up check up.
Good news: Her vet said that her furr is looking much better. She went from 0.4 kg to 0.55 kg. Her eyes are now pretty much good and we can stop the daily eye drops.
Bad news: Though her nasal discharge has been getting better, it still has a long way to go before it's cured. The vet advices to continue with the respiratory medicine and the antibiotics for another 7 days. So no deworming yet until she's cured of this.
I also bought her a daily vitamin medicine which her vet recommended to go with the immune booster medicine she's been taking for the last week. So all in all, she has 4 oral medicines to take everyday.
On another note, she just bit me for the first time today and boy do those kitten teeth hurt lol.
I'll be updating this "update thread" if there's any important news. You can always check Cocos status on my profile. I try my best to post videos of her there daily."

"Update 11:
Went to the vet yesterday, 1/5/23. Coco gained weight, she went from 0.55 to 0.65. Her nasal discharge was getting better but it wasn't completely cured so her vet switched her to a stronger medication and she will be taking this for 7 days.
Coco also got dewormed. Her next dose for it will be in 2 weeks. Her first poop after the deworming already had worms in it. I have a picture of the worm infested poop but it's extremely gross so I won't post it here. But if you really want to see it, let me know and I'll reply it to you."

"UPDATE 12:
Coco went back to the vet yesterday, May 15. She was given her 2nd dose of deworming. No vaccines yet because the vet wanted to kill all the worms inside her first. A lot came out on her 1st and 2nd poop the first time she was dewormed.
Coco is also now officially cured of her respiratory problems. She now only has to take 2 medicines, an immune booster and daily vitamins which she will be taking for the rest of her cat life.
…My guess is she still has 3-5 vet visits left. Mainly for the deworming (she needs 4 doses) and also vaccinations.
I declined some donations like 2 weeks ago since I thought we had enough but right now any help is greatly appreciated.
Also, please help me finally identify if Coco is a male or female.
Thank you everyone for supporting Coco."
