When a family member becomes financially successful and is moving forward in life, why is it that hangers-on and fringe members of the family feel entitled to a piece of their success? Your cousin may be buying fancy jewelry and accessories with their new-found cash, but that certainly doesn't entitle you to a piece of their diamond encrusted pie. In this situation, a young man was having a celebratory dinner with his family and friends to celebrate getting good grades and school as well as moving on up in the world.

Now, OP had a bit of a fashion fetish and spent all of his extra cash, earnings, and game-winning prize money on chains and watches. The gamily new that and saw the celebration as the perfect opportunity to strike. OP's cousins and uncle plotted together to find the perfect time to ransack OP's bedroom and rifle through his belongings, taking the most valuable items for themselves as recompense for sharing a blood line.
