Unless you're moving further away from a crying baby, never switch sets on a plane. No matter how the other person puts it, you're never benefitting yourself. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/EntitledPeople subreddit by u/IslandMist, who saw that this woman wanted to sit near her friend (the friend was sitting in the seat directly next to the Redditor).
At first, OP agreed to switch; that is, until she saw the woman straight-up laugh and then explain that her seat was about 20 rows back, thereby separating OP from her family on the flight. The fact that this woman laughed is what really sends me into a fury because she clearly has enough self-awareness to know that what she is asking for is not a fair deal. Thankfully, that's what set off the Redditor as well and she declined to move, even getting the flight attendant involved to make this woman move to her proper seat… 20 rows back.
