Font - I (28F) have spent everyday for the past year wishing my (27M) husband would cheat on me so I had a valid out.
  • 03
Font - I hate being married. My husband would rather spend time with his brothers and parents than with me. We've been at his parents house for the past three weekends. Once we leave there, he gets on video games with them until all hours of the night. I haven't been to bed with my husband in weeks. S x is non existent in my marriage right now.

Font - It's not just about the s x. He complains about me all the time. To my face and behind my back. I've overheard him telling people that I'm annoying or that I nag a lot. I don't feel like I ask more than any other wife. I don't get home until past 7 most nights because I have to pick up the kids, and I don't ever ask him to pick them up or to make dinner.

Font - I ask for him to help clean up the house, and to help me put one of the kids to bed. He only willingly put one of the kids to bed. My house hasn't been clean in months. He just will not do chores. He ran out of clean underwear a few weeks ago and told me it was my job to do laundry, essentially blaming me.

Font - The man also REFUSES to take care of himself. He complains when I cook because I'm trying to cook healthy meals, and he doesn't like vegetables. He won't go to the gym with me, but instead insists on playing video games. Obesity runs in his family, and I'm trying my best to encourage a healthy lifestyle change. I know he's depressed, but he won't talk to someone or get on medication. It doesn't matter how I try to encourage him. He would just rather suffer.

Font - All this to say, I don't feel like it's a good enough reason to get a divorce. I'm unhappy in my marriage, but it can be fixed. Both parties be willing, of course. He's just not willing. I just wish he'd cheat on me so I felt like I had a valid reason to get divorced. At this point, it wouldn't even hurt me that much.

Font - ETA: I was raising extremely religious. Leaving without a "good reason" ie cheating, is very frowned upon. I guess I still have that pounded into my head and that is why I don't feel like my reasons are good enough.

He is not fulfilling his end of the marital contract you both agreed to, sounds like a good enough reason to me. Just plan your exit now, get your savings up, make sure your kids are covered, make yourself a landing because somethings gotta give at this rate. Reply Share 1.3k

Font - ShireSearcher 1 hr. ago If we truly want to follow the Christian guidelines, Paul gives us a 3-step plan: 1. Talk to him about this (if you haven't already) 2. If he shows no will or sign of improving, talk to him about this with one or two other people, preferably from your church, preferably in prominent positions

Font - 3. If he still doesn't do something about it, talk to him with the community of the church. 4. If he STILL does not listen, 'let him be unto thee as a heathen man and a publican.' Source: Matthew 18:15-17

Rectangle - 265 CurvyNerdMom86 19 hr. ago Being extremely unhappy with a partner that is not active in your marriage is a totally valid reason to get a divorce. 2.1k Reply Share ●●●

Font - Cool-Reindeer-6145 20 hr. ago As someone who was in your position and dealt with it for 4 more years, please don't wait for a "valid reason." Your reasons are valid. Move on with your life. I spent 4 years unnecessarily miserable.

Font - CrystalQueen3000 20 hr. ago Being unhappy is absolutely a valid reason for divorce, especially because your husband isn't willing to work on making it better. You don't need him to cheat, you just need to find your courage and remind yourself that you deserve better
