The Best Disney Memes of the Week (June 3, 2023)

Well, it finally happened. The long-awaited live-action remake of The Little Mermaid is officially in theatres, and I have some thoughts about it. I know this might be a controversial opinion, but the movie is really carried by the strength of its lead performances. Halle Bailey as Ariel, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, and Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric were cast perfectly, and there's nothing you can tell me to change my mind. Halle Bailey's rendition of "Part of Your World" is a work of art and is by far my favorite part of the movie. Deal with it. 

The movie isn't without its flaws. The underwater segments look pretty rough, and Sebastian and Flounder are victims of some strange CGI. They added a couple of new songs that weren't inherently bad, but they cut "Le Poisson" in the process, which is disappointing to fans of the original movie. I would definitely recommend seeing the movie if you have doubt or curiosity about it. It's definitely one of the better Disney live-action remakes in the past five years, and I'm sure it will bring a smile to your Disney adult face.
