Ah, video games, the misunderstood heroes of entertainment! They've been blamed for everything from global warming to toxic masculinity, and of course, all the world's violence. But let's set the record straight, shall we? Video games don't make people violent any more than eating a slice of pizza turns you into Captain America. If anything, they provide a safe outlet for all those barely-suppressed road rage incidents or that time you wanted to punch your refrigerator for no reason. So, let's put down our pitchforks, grab a controller, and save the world from alien invasions or the cordyceps apocalypse, because there are few things more cathartic than blasting BBEGs out of your character's path. That said, video games can be just as serene and calming as an early Brian Eno record. Ever hear of Everything? The video game where you literally get to be the universe? Then of course there's Minecraft, a vibrant realm of creativity and collaboration. What I'm trying to say is, not every video game is full of violence, and when it is, it's not any more affecting than a Michael Bay movie.
In celebration of video games, here's another round of the best gaming memes of the week on us! Enjoy, gamers.
