Dealing with rude customers is everyone's least favorite part about working in retail. Not only do Karens and Kevins feel entitled to unquestioned service, most shoppers tend to leave their manners at the door when they enter the store. Would a customer really be this rude to every other person in their life? Or is it just the fluorescent lighting of department stores that make every person pushing a shopping cart turn completely feral?
One cashier reached his limit this weekend on how much verbal assault he could handle from the coupon-crazed, Memorial Day shoppers. This vide catches the altercation in 4k when a rude customer demands that an employee break company policy to fulfill their lazy demands.
Things got spicy at a home improvement store when some sale items had a questionable price. Instead of letting customers walk out of the store with an unconfirmed deal, Andrew, the associate at the register, asked the customer to go take a picture of the signage where they grabbed their potted plants to confirm the pricing. Since cashiers aren't supposed to leave their check out station while they're on shift, Andrew followed policy by staying firm.
The customer didn't like that and started yelling at Andrew until he finally snapped. The Kevinish client wanted to start belittling his cashier and acting entitled, so Andrew did what we all wish we had the guts to do. He one-upped the customer's crazy behavior and quit on the spot.
It must have been a long day of dealing with problematic clients, but Andrew boils over in an instant. The Kevin calls over a manager to try and force his price check request, but by then, Andrew had had enough with civilities. He flipped the sign and stormed away, taking his apron off as he went. Andrew countered the Kevin's demeaning demands with a fiery fury that can only be described as retail fever.
As every ex-retail employee knows, there's no limit to the hatred you feel for every disrespectful customer that walks in the store. We can only hope that we can all stand up for ourselves like Andrew did that day, not succumbing to the pressures of entitled customers who act rude to ‘lesser employees’ to get what they want. At least online everyone is singing Andrew's praises. This unsung hero finally has a voice.
