Font - Take_My_User_Name 6 hr. ago I was a contractor at Tory Burch and was assigned my own future dated termination. It gave me a full 3 weeks of doing nothing but looking for jobs and talking During that time, the other contractor in my department and I got into a conversation about salary

Font - For the same position that I was getting $45 / hr, he was getting $18. I have experience in the role and he was fresh out of college, but it was the same title and identical responsibilities. He quit that day. The morning after, I was called into my managers open space cube to be scolded for having the salary conversation. It didn't go well for her.

Font - The sheer enjoyment that I took from the company's distress at needing to keep me on or be short staffed was way too apparent, as was the smug look on my face. Right as she was ramping up to ask me to stay a few more weeks, I stopped her and told her I had already found a new position (similar wage, 1/3 the commute), and due to how both coworker and I were treated I was leaving today.

Font - She was livid. I happily walked back to the lobby, talked a little to the pretty receptionist, filled my pockets with the free Starbursts they left in fishbowls, and went home. ✩ 1.1k Reply Share

Font - TacoJim2541 10 hr. ago Easy unemployment claim. Save this email somewhere personal ASAP and make sure you submit this in its entirely when you file your claim. Them letting you go is out of your control. Don't quit! let them lay you off so you get unemployment payments while you job search depending on your state that is ~55% of your normal income.

Font - Your employer pays unemployment insurance by law. Laying people off entitles the workers to file a claim on their insurance, this causes their premiums to go up, and therefore, operating expenses. This is why companies work so hard to over workers and take away our social safety nets so they don't have to take any responsibility for their employees basic needs. 1.4k Reply Share

Font - An_Actual Thing 15 hr. ago Who titles an email "emergency!!!" like that and nothing else. what a joke. This is a really antagonistic mentality all together. Like revoking access before firing someone gives the impression he thinks you're gonna try and shoot him in the foot or sabotage on your way out. Which is just weird and childish. 4999 Reply Share

Font - Lynch_67816653. 11 hr. ago If they have someone above, forward this message to them. Highlight how it was unprofessional to include you in the email, how sending a password via email is poor security practice. Also report if and how you were told you were fired. Suggest improvements to their business practices. 263 Reply Share
