'I called his bluff': Penny-pinching tourist refuses to pay the guide for his boat excursion; get's put in his place and marooned on shore

There are a few guided activities that most people are unwilling to be cheap about: skydiving, scuba lessons, and boat tours. With all of those activities, you want a trusted professional holding the wheel if things go wrong, and reasonable tourists are typically willing to fork up the cash to ensure the safety of themselves and their families… Not this man.

In this case, one tourist with an enormous family of 22 people, had booked a snorkeling boat tour with a budget-friendly, family run business. As a small business owner, OP could smell the deal-grubbing nature of the man from a mile away, fending off his requests for a discount, free upgrades, and his overall entitled behavior, but the biggest red flag was that the man insisted on paying cash in person for his tour.
