"This situation could jeopardize my marriage": Deceitful Dad Gives Away The Family Feline, Then Lies About It To His Wife And Daughter

Okay guys, get ready for a doozy. This animal-themed AITA Reddit thread is quite the story - although there isn't a lot of text, it's what's written that is the shocker here. The father, who is the author of this post, has never really been a fan of animals, or pets in general. His wife and daughter wanted a cat, so he agreed for them. The cat then proceeded to do normal cat things, like scratching the furniture, zoomies in the night, and was having some trouble getting housebroken. 

What did this dishonest dad do? Instead of taking the hard route, which would be to seek professional help to get the cat used to living at home, he decided to re-home the family feline and give it to one of his coworkers, then proceed to lie about it to his wife and daughter. Clearly, he's wracked with guilt because of the way he wrote this post. He's afraid that it will ruin his marriage and his relationship with his daughter if they find out. DUH!     There were so many things he could have done instead of rehoming the cat. Could have gone to get some professional help with the cat. Heck, he could have even worn ear plugs and get some puppy pads so that the pee is easier to clean up.

You can clip the cats nails, use nail caps, put double stick tape on the furniture, lots of solutions. Giving a living being away in secret is not one of them. YTA
