Sometimes honoring an original deal is more profitable than renegotiating a new one, and that is pretty accurate in this case. OP explained how her grandfather used to own a piece of land next to a horse racetrack; their land nearly entirely surrounded her grandfather's, except for the fact he had access to a public road. The racetrack itself was laid out in such a way that their exercise track was placed on her grandfather's land, while the main track with a stadium was placed to the south. The racetrack struck a deal with OP's grandfather so that they could transport their horses across his land in order to avoid a mess. In return, OP's grandfather could enter the racetrack with guests, free of admission.
After OP's grandfather passed, the racetrack owners had a power trip and refused OP the same service they provided her grandfather. As a result, OP decided to show them who is boss. As OP owned the road that the racetrack used for transport, she left a few logs on it, making sure that the racetrack could no longer pass over it with their horses.
The racetrack quickly backtracked, calling OP and telling her that they would indeed keep the deal that they had made with her grandfather, but it was too late, OP's mind was set.
