'Soooo they do care?': Wholesome cat lover proves that cats actually love their hoomans more than they love breakfast

Cat lovers everywhere have always tackled the debate about a cats affection towards humans. Unlike dogs, cattos are reserved with their love and sometimes stay just out of reach to taunt us with the prospects of a cuddle session, only to wander away with a glare and a flick of their floofy tail. Cats are always more lovable when it comes to mealtime though. A cat knows the sound of their kibbles hitting the bowl and comes running for breakfast way faster than when we call them to jump on the couch with us. So that begs the question, do cats really love us?

One cat mom recently debunked this age-old mystery using science. And even if it's not true, cat lovers everywhere are so hopeful that her findings are reality, that this is one video we'll be saving to show our kitten when they start to act aloof.

This cat mom is the owner of a tabby kimten who has stolen her heart. This rescue loaf may seem like he's ambivalent to her presence sometimes, but in the morning just after they wake up, he's extra cuddly and extra lovey dovey. Is it because he knows that breakfast is on the way? Or is this chunky cat uber lovable because of another reason?

Cleo, the cat mom, seems to believe that her beloved cat is extra affectionate in the morning because he was worried about his hooman all night.

Since cats are light sleepers, it's unsettling for them that their humanoid caregiver is asleep for 7+ hours every night.

When we're peacefully sleeping at night, unbothered by noises in the alley and the creaking of the floorboards, cats start to notice. A cat may be wide awake 15 times a night, but for a human person, that's the most atrocious night of sleep ever. While we're happily enjoying REM sleep, they're busy worrying about whether or not we'll even wake up in the morning. Being worried = caring about us, right?

This is at least Cleo's logic and that's something a lot of cat lovers are willing to believe with no other explanation. So the next time your cat is meowing and threatening to trip you with leg squiggles in the morning, it's not because they're coercing you towards the food bowl, it's because they're happy that you're alive. How wholesome is that?
