Here's a friendly reminder to always be sure you're right before starting a feud with your neighbor. That's what this guy learned the hard way when he was ultimately fined $10,000 for the destruction of the adjacent family's property. On top of that, he ended up losing 11 feet of his backyard in the process as well. Talk about a bad day to be this dude.
That being said, our sympathy for him is quite limited considering he joins a long line of bad neighbors that have come across our eyes here at FAIL Blog. This thread was initially posted to Reddit's r/MalicousCompliance subreddit, and thankfully, no HOA got involved in the feud here (because, as we know, HOAs only make matters worse). In this scenario, the Redditor's parents grew several plans at the edge of their property as a result of their discomfort because their neighbor could see directly into their kitchen. This, of course, is understandable, but it clearly set the neighbor off.
He insisted that the plants were on his property and was caught cutting them down at 2am. After this back-and-forth pattern between the family and the neighbor continued for a bit, they decided to get a professional to draw the boundary. Well, it turned out that not only were those plants well within the family's property, but also their neighbor's large fence was on the wrong side of the boundary. In addition to the fine for destruction of property, he had to take that fence down and lost some of what he thought was his own land as well. At the end of the day, the family was able to replant their trees once again.
