Mama Bear and Her 2 Cubs Beat the California Heat by Invading a Local Family's Pool, Giving Off Beary Good Summer Vibes

Summer gets flippin' hot. For hoomans and wild animals alike, it's tough to find ways to beat the heat– for most, the best way to cool off when the hot midday sun becomes too strong is to hop into your nearest body of water and wait out the scorching sun. That's exactly what this family of bears did as temperatures skyrocketed over 100 degrees in the lower Sierra mountain ranges of Southern California. In the foothills near San Bernadino, one mama bear took drastic action to protect her cubs from the blazing heat and managed to terrify a local family in the process.

Bella the bear is a fully grown, very healthy female black bear that has been monitored in this particular neighborhood for a while now. For years, she's had the audacity to creep further and further into town and with the arrival of her two perfect little cubs and a massive heat wave, Bella became a local spectacle when she took complete control over a residential pool. 

Originally captured in the darkest hours of the night, you can see that Bella approached the house under the cover of darkness to investigate the tempting body of water that could potentially save her cubs from heat stroke. On security cams, you can see her poking her nose around to make sure this cool grotto is safe.

The next day, Bella returned with her babies in tow and proceeded to completely take over the pool, shocking residents and having the time of her life with her babies. The bears' relief when pouncing into the refreshing water is clear and the owner of the home was very understanding about relinquishing control over their own pool time. The bears needed it more than the hoomans did. 

To our delight, the bears have made this pool a frequent stomping ground. When the humans aren't around, the cubs come out to play and frolic in the fresh waters, enjoying the relaxing coolness of a fresh dip on a hot day, just like we all would. Bella and the baby cubs are having a beary good summer and their vibes are immaculate, making most of us jealous of their delightful pool days and summertime memories.
