Font - As of yesterday I just quit my job at the grocery store deli that I worked for. I made 12.50 an hour and was talking on Facebook how hard it is to live, especially as a single mom, only making about 450 a week. She texted and said "Take it down! I know managers that make less than you and I'm tired of hearing about it. You're just trying to stir sh*t up." I told her I wasn't going to take it down and if management makes less than me, they should be mad too. She then told me that I just ne

Font - KrylonxBlue You made $12.50 an hour and their response was to learn to budget better? About $26,000 per year before taxes is not livable. Are they going to allow you to buy food at a high discount to supplement the extremely low pay? No, they're not. ● 20 hr. ago You did the right thing. I'm tired of employers acting like the solution is to budget better when in reality the cost of living far exceeds their pay.

SnipesCC I once had a boss whose feeling were seriously hurt that I didn't want to add him on Facebook. He was like a 22 year old trapped in a 42 year old's body. I said I never add coworkers while I'm at that job. I added a couple of the managers when I left that job, but not him.

Font - Jacq 1987 20 hr. ago Oh and let's not forget that the store manager doesn't let people have overtime because it comes out of his $70,000 a year bonus check. 3.7K Reply ↑ Share Big Target78 19 hr. ago Yeah I left Toys R Us shortly after I found out that part of the reason we were short staffed to the point of massive stress was because managers got bonuses if they came in under their staffing budget.

Font - Jacq1987 I work at Town and Country Supermarket Inc in Missouri. It's not a union job. I might still go to the labor board about this and let the corporate know that she called me today after I quit and demanded that I come in so she could write me up. 255 18 hr. ago Reply ↑ Share

Font - EatLard 19 hr. ago "Budget better".... That amount of money is not livable anywhere in this country. You don't budget your way out of poverty at $12.50/hr. 360 Reply Share ... stosphia 18 hr. ago Pfffft where I live, I'm not sure how I'll do it at $15/hr ●

Font - Lrgindypants 20 hr. ago You should have let her fire you. Besides, you are allowed to discuss wages, mostly. O ↑ 500 ↓ Reply Share ... Fixerguy415 19 hr. ago Not mostly. Always. That's not negotiable under FLSA.

Font - 19 hr. ago Never ever ever ever add people from your work to Facebook. No good will come of it. At the very least you should block your bosses so they can't ever see your stuff. RTMSner

Rectangle - 20 hr. ago Key Responsibility 167 These management types that sold their souls to their masters are priceless. Crunching Pennies and screwing over poor hardworking people to get a bonus. They give loyalty to the corporations and none to the workers.

Font - truemore45. 19 hr. ago 12.50 an hour. Where do you work? That is horrible. 1. She is breaking the law. You can discuss that stuff. 2. Ask a lawyer but calling you after you quit to take down a personal post sounds a bit like harassment. 3. Good luck at your next job maybe work for a union! Solidarity brother!

Font - Anarcho-Chris 18 hr. ago Yummy. She sent you a message proving her guilt. Discussing your wages is federally protected. Take that shit to the wage and hours division, and she's gonna slapped with a $10000 fine for each employee this has happened to. You can also pursue civil charges for violating your civil rights. Fuck around and find out.

Font - VoodooSweet • 19 hr. ago Discussing how much money you make is First Amendment protected speech, (unless you signed a NDA, but I doubt that at a Deli)you already had a text saying she was going to fire you if you didn't take it down, the right play would've been to not take it down, let her fire you over it.........and then sue the pants off them....oh well, sucks you have to go through this, you'll find a better job....

Font - Ligma_Cured Ham Hard to live on $12.50/hr. . 17 hr. ago Rage quit their job and now makes $0.00/hr with no job prospects. Let alone ones with better pay. Intelligent. I don't disagree you gotta leave, but fucking yourself over to try and fuck them over isn't the play. You're replaceable far easier than it is for you to find a new job. They'll have someone in your spot before the corpse is cold. This was a dumb idea. Should have found another job and then just ghosted the place. Congrats o

Font - 7iron_short 19 hr. ago Boss obviously knows 12.50 is pathetic otherwise they wouldn't be putting up a stink about the post.
