Depression is a fickle, frustrating beast. It can come at any time, in any variety, and in any severity. You could have had the best week of your life. Everything going right; work is incredible, friendships are healthy, and social life is stellar. But one day you wake up and that terrible feeling has emerged. You have no idea how long it will last or how bad it will be. All you know is that it's an incredibly awful burden. One that affects every part of your life.
But that's the thing about depression, it comes and it goes. Whether that be through its cyclical nature or that you're seeking out whatever treatment is available. The main thing is diligently fighting it off once it does go. But that's an uphill battle. We all have to manage our mental health. Just some a lot more than others.
If you have depression, realize that you're not alone. There are people out there who have experienced the very same feelings and people who are currently experiencing the same feelings. It's a relatable illness. And with just how awful it is, it can be nice to make light of these feelings once in a while.
