St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, and one way to celebrate this holiday is to recognize the "Luck of the Irish." There are many animals that are considered to bring good fortune across multiple cultures... but they don't all have what seems to be that good ol' Irish luck. Here are a number of lucky animals that aren't living up to their reputation.
Elephants are considered to be bringers of fortune and wealth. It's too bad this one seems to have ventured into an area where nobody can afford to fix those dang slippery pot holes in the road!
The deer represents the hope of an overall long and healthy life. I guess this one didn't get the memo.
Frogs have been a sign of prosperity and the bringers of rain for rich and bountiful crops. They're also a symbol of safe travel...I don't think this kind of travel is what a frog would consider "safe."
Seeing a lizard scurrying away is said to be a sign to tell you to flee trouble as well, before it occurs...this kitten didn't take the hint.
Goldfish are one of the eight sacred symbols of Buddha, representing fertility, abundance and harmony. Harmony with most creatures...except with cats...of course.
Overall, horses are said to be a sign of power, beauty and industry. That, unfortunately, does not include balance or grace.
It's true that the pig is respected by the Irish for an ancient tale of a shepherd whose pig herd always replenished itself and never lost a member. I guess this guy was getting in the way of replenishing the herd...
Bears have always been considered by the Native Americans to be a lucky catch for their ability to feed and sustain a family for many years. Perhaps this bear is a little too lucky with its catch of that day's salmon...
Rabbits have always been a symbol of strong fertility. I guess it's not so lucky to be around them when they're suffering from erectile disfunction.
The bull is said to be a positive sign of good health and wealth. Maybe this guy has a servant who carries towels around for him...
