'Turned out we loved each other': Encouraging Tales of 'Friends With Benefits' Relationships That Found With a Happy Ending

I'm one of those girls who has always had rose colored glasses when it comes to relationships. Because of every book or movie or TV show we've ever seen, where the heroic lead of the story would fall in love with the person of their dreams, I firmly believed that love could overcome everything. It was black and white, crystal clear, and so intensely obvious that people in love would try to start a life together. Naturally, I was flabbergasted when I learned the reality of the grey area. That was of course when I entered the dating world and learned that there is more than just 'in love' and 'not in love' as a relationship status. Let's hope you weren't like me, a lover girl trapped in in a world where a situationship was more common than a real relationship, where doomed, half-breed couples have muddied the waters of the dating world. 

For some people, however, their situationships and 'friends with benefits' arrangements turned out to surprise them. The lover girl inside all of us can attest that there's always a small part of you that, when faced with a FWB situation, you secretly hope that it turns into the real deal: Love with a capital L. Sometimes you just know you're not compatible with someone in a romantic/serious relationship sense. Sometimes you don't want a relationship, but crave the intimacy and temporary companionship.
