Awwdorable Cat Spends 9 Whole Years In Shelter, Waiting For A Forever Home; The Internet Bands Together And Gets Him Adopted (Viral Thread)

There are some cats who, sadly, get adopted less frequently than others. We know that black cats are in this category. Senior cats also get adopted much less often. Sick cats are the same. Some we understand, others not so much. We just hope, every day, that someone will come along and help these 'less than purrfect' kittens - give them the forever home that they deserve.

Then, other times, a cat doesn't get adopted for years and years on end, and we don't understand at all. Such is the case here. Barney - this adorable, precious, so-cute-your-stomach-flips cat - has been stuck in a shelter for the past 9 years with no prospects. And we cannot understand why. Now, thankfully, the people in the shelter have taken amazing care of him, but still… we think this cutie deserves a forever home, and the internet clearly agrees. Because after 9 years of nothing, suddenly, Barney had so many forever parents to choose from.

How this adorable cat got skipped over for nine whole years is beyond us. Even as a kitten! We don't understand. He's not old, he's not sick, he's friendly and cute as a friggin' button. We are so happy that you made this post about him and allowed the internet to correct this abhorrent mistake that somehow ended up happening in the world.

He really is one of the happiest-looking cats that we have seen in a while. And we are so happy to know that, even though he hadn't been adopted, he has been well-taken care of in this shelter. Now, we can only hope that he'll be even happier than before in his new forever home.
