So, the worker has stopped doing the favor for the office and is just waiting for their boss to come to their senses and undo the new rule—not that that day will ever come. It's far more likely that this new rule will remain in place forever, and once the staff has entirely turned over… there's going to be no one left to remember how things once were better.
