What do you do when your manager is a thieving fraudster, and their boss refuses to listen because, on paper, your manager is getting good results? This is something you'll likely come across during the long course of your career, and you might be dismayed to find yourself powerless in the position.
Heck, most bosses will be willing to look the other way for someone who is performing high in whatever KPI upper management is currently prioritizing… Just as long as things look good and people aren't asking questions—and as long as there isn't going to be any blowback on them if everything goes sideways. For some reason… this seems to happen particularly often in retail.
This singular focus on KPIs and reluctance to intervene in employee "drama" will eventually go sideways for the business—when neglected employee issues fester into legal troubles that could have easily been avoided with proper management.
This retail worker shared their story of dealing with their thieving fraudster of a boss, who repeatedly took advantage of their position and illegal tactics to pump their numbers up and keep their own boss off their backs.
