'It's fun to actually block someone once in a while': IT worker gets back at coworkers who cut the lunch line and force him to eat at his desk
You should treat every single person with respect, especially all of your coworkers. The hierarchy of the company comes second to just being a decent human being. However, some people are filled with entitlement and forget that when it comes down to it, we're all just flesh and bones. So when one of these entitled colleagues disrespect a branch of the company that they think they're better than, you better believe they're gonna get a taste of their own medicine.
This happened recently with an employee in IT. Now, if you've ever worked in a company that has IT, then you know just how important they are. If there is a tech problem that no one knows how to fix, IT can make or break that work flow. So if you disrespect IT, well… That's pretty dumb. Apparently, the IT team in this company only got an hour long break, so it was crucial that they got in and out as quick as possible in the lunch line. Which was hard sometimes, because it could get very long.
Well this IT employee was waiting in a very long lunch line, he watched as two employees cut the line, even though they had a much longer lunch break. This forced him and some of his other IT teammates to quickly grab their lunches and eat at their desks. (Which technically wasn't even allowed, but it was either that or be hungry.)
If you mess with the bee, you're gonna feel the sting. And in this case, the bee was IT and the sting was IT now ignoring this line-jumpers' "urgent" IT requests. Sorry, if you're going to be rude to IT, then why would they show you anything else? Hopefully, a lesson was learned here.
