67-year-old grandma wears two piece bikini to 19-year-old granddaughter's birthday party, 44-year-old daughter scolds her for not dressing her age despite teen's approval: "[It's] inappropriate for a woman [your] age to wear that"

Summer is officially here – that means that it's bikini body season. What even is a bikini body? In decades past, women would restrict their diet and exercise excessively in the months and weeks leading up to the summer in a futile effort to achieve this unattainable goal. Nowadays, thanks to the relentless efforts of the body positive movement, most youngsters agree that a bikini body is simply a body that happens to be wearing two-piece swimear – regardless of the body fat composition. While it's always a great idea to move your body and eat healthy, there is no reason to go to extremes just to force yourself to fit into some fabric.

In our story today, the generational gap in body positivity is on fully display by a teen and her mother. While the teen encourages her grandmother to wear a bikini to her 19th birthday party, grandma's own daughter is the one criticizing her for her choice in swimwear due to her age.
