One moment from my childhood I can never forget was when the original Doom first came out, all the way back in 1993. The second I first booted it up I was immediately hooked. I couldn't stop playing it. And, while it's hard to believe today, I was floored by the "Realistic" looking graphics. Every time I shot a rocket next to an enemy (Yes, next to, if you shoot them directly at the enemy and you miss, you don't do ANY damage. If you shoot next to them you always do damage) I would marvel at how the enemy exploded into a pile of goo.
Anyway, once I decided to call my grandma and show her what happens when you shoot an enemy with a rocket. I will never forget the look on her face. she was mortified! She turned white and just walked away without saying anything. I felt bad. But i still wonder how she would have reacted to seeing a glory kill from Doom Eternal.
