If you were one of those nerdy kids that pretended they could do magic spells in their backyard, this post is for you. We created magical fantasies with evil wizards, big boss battles, and tales of epic adventure in our brains thanks to the creative and colorful movies that inspired us when we were kids. They taught us about responsibilities, the power of reading, and to think outside the box. Needless to say, we wouldn't be the creative, geeky people we are today without these iconic films.
We watched a lot of movies when we were kids, and some of these we've seen at least ten times. The mystical worlds they showed us got us into card games, reading fantasy novels, and to use our creativity to solve problems. They bring back all our millennial nostalgia and it feels like home. Scroll down and see if you recognize all of them, you might even find a few you forgot about!
This movie was revolutionary - blending the lines between reality and fantasy, showing the power of storytelling and imagination. This movie helped us create games in our heads to keep ourselves occupied when we played alone, or even better yet, with friends!
The Pagemaster has similar motifs to The Neverending Story, but because it was animated it was all a bit more childlike. We must have watched this movie twenty times, and every time we opened a book we secretly hoped we would get sucked in!
