Telling the truth is a confusing topic when it comes to dating advice. According to some people, complete and total honesty is the only way anyone will find true love (or have a strings-free hookup). Others insist that the only way to relationship satisfaction is by keeping 'em on their toes with some heavy fibbing.
While I have always been inclined towards being as genuine as I possibly can be, this seems to be an alien concept to half the people who use dating apps. The trenches of online romance are a slew of misleading pictures, defensive profiles, and boasts that turn out to be completely divorced from reality. It's just as well that enough people use them that this BS can be called out for what it is.
While some of the below misbehavior is entertaining, it's certainly not pleasant to be on the receiving end of it. It costs $0 to attempt to be a decent person to prospective romantic partners.
