Organism - sid Follow @lilbabygandhi Europeans should tip in America solely because how transcendentally better service is in America. A European being able to experience American service is akin to a caveman seeing a lightbulb turn on for the first time.

Font - Collin Slattery @CJSlattery. 1d Replying to @lilbabygandhi Every time I'm in Europe I'm sitting there saying the serenity prayer as I wait 30 minutes for them to come by and take my order, 30 minutes to ask me if I want another drink and 30 minutes to bring the check.

Font - Andrew (Toycat) @ibxtoycat . 1d Replying to @lilbabygandhi if Americans had an option for 15-20% cheaper food but in exchange the waiter only came over to take orders and deliver them, I think large numbers would take it. 23 175 ₁39.1K 702 Prowl8413 @Prowl8413.1d Thats all irrelevant. Waiters/waitresses only make $2/hour and survive solely on tips

Font - David @Cordon Bleu2000 Follow Replying to @lilbabygandhi and @liberalurbanite I experienced both and it's virtually the same. The only difference is that in America they'll ask you if everything is ok more and the water they serve you is so cold it that you'll get hypothermia from drinking it.

Font - ben @benwatkinsonnn . 1d Replying to @lilbabygandhi No. I'm not going to pay $90 for food then pay the wages of some random person I don't know just because they walked 25 yards to bring it to me. Not my fault the American pay is w nk is it.

Organism - P.J. @PeterJJ 1d Replying to @lilbabygandhi LOL. While American waiters bother you every five minutes, I prefer to eat my pasta in peace, thank you very much. Smile - 14h Magnets @PerthshireMags american "service" being as it is is a byproduct of how exploitative and degrading the sector is and should be a point of shame, not pride

Font - @thegarydoyle.bsky... Follow @thegarydoyle i absolutely hate having american servers hover around me and timidly refer to me as "sir" out of fear that they won't get a tip, the whole thing is f cked. Anyone in favour of this just isn't willing to admit that what they actually want is a servant

Font - bk @uncooljerk. 30m not wadding in to tipping discourse but, as a european, american service is overbearing and i would HATE it. i want to be LEFT ALONE. i literally cannot think of anything worse than someone coming over every five-ten minutes

Font - extremely negative... @DoYou Even Mikel Follow Servers out there are learning new languages on Duolingo at 4 AM so that they can make an extra 20 a day while guys working 9-5 and $300k a year keep telling everyone why that is actually good

Font - sarah m @sazza_jay. 5h i personally love being expected to digest a three course meal in under 30 minutes whilst being constantly bothered with 'help', all so your wage-starved wait staff can maximise their tips because you're too cheap to pay them properly
