It's really not that hard to treat others with the barest amount of decency and respect. In fact, it takes more energy to be mean, to the point where you almost have to go out of your way to do it. For that reason, it literally makes zero logical sense when someone goes the extra distance to be unkind, even if it's just in a subtle sort of way: a sneering lip or upturned nose that lets you know that they think themselves to be above you.
This poster writes that they used to work in television production and were responsible for selecting on-screen talent. As is common in the cut-throat entertainment industry, it wasn't uncommon for actors and actresses to treat them with indifference if they didn't know who they were and what their role was. One particular actress went out of her way to treat the poster with disdain, belittling and being generally disrespectful towards them. But, when the actress one day realized who the poster had associations with, she came to regret her behavior, blanching when she realized who was directly responsible for her continued employment.
