Restaurant service is a pretty basic thing, so long as you're not a douchebag customer. All that most of us hope for is to be served promptly and with courtesy, as well as get any issues sorted out without a hitch.
As a server, these objectives can occasionally be harder to deliver than they should be. While we have to be mindful of that, sometimes as diners we are presented with situations where we start wondering what the heck is going on in the kitchen. Our patience has its limits when it comes to things beyond our control.
This was the case for two customers at a hotpot restaurant, who complained on TikTok after being left for 45 minutes with nobody to bring them their check. Revealing in the comments it eventually took them an hour and a half to pay and leave, commenters couldn't help but share their own, similar experiences. Surely businesses are more worried about falling victim to a dine and dash?
