Vigilantes in the movies and comic books are usually decked out in their own DIY suits that are cool and edgy. They train themselves and can do all kinds of martial arts and parkour moves. They rid their community of evil citizens who use their laser eye vision to rob banks or something.
In real life, however, it's not as flashy and theatrical. Vigilantes in real life are just like this Reddit poster. His uniform was a blue vest and his cover up job was "cart-pusher." His main enemies were entitled Karens who parked like they owned the entire parking lot, and neglectful parents who would leave their small children unattended in the cars while they shopped.
OP called it "petty revenge," and thus posted it in said subreddit, but commenters believe it was more heroic than petty. This vigilante would make sure the Karens who parked in places that made it an inconvenience for everyone else around them got what they deserved. As in, when they would come back to their car, they would find a gang of carts surrounding their poorly parked car. Okay, maybe that one is a tad petty. But he also helped the kids!
Apparently, policy says he is supposed to walkie in when he sees a child was left alone in the car and then they would page the car owner and deal with it from there. But this cart-pusher would not stand to give an inch to this kind of injustice. So he would just go straight to calling the police as a "concerned citizen" and wouldn't even bother telling his work.
See? Sometimes vigilante work is the little things, but it's just as important.
