Even for the most avowed Spooky Season enjoyers, the costume side of the holiday can be a stressful endeavor. What kind of budget will you set aside from it? Should it be more scary or funny? Do you stick to a classic concept, or reference something topical?
It's true, the average Halloween-celebrating American has a lot of questions to answer when they start planning their yearly costume(s). However, one thought that never crosses their mind is "how boring can I make my outfit?".
This couldn't be further from the case in Japan, where the Jimi 'Mundane' Halloween contest has just shared some of its best entries. Participants aim to depict totally banal people and situations with their costumes. It leads to some mighty amusing results that have the added bonus of being things that all of us have witnessed at some point in our lives. We've got to admire the creativity.
