Anonymity gives people a false sense of superiority. From behind the screen of their computer or when talking to someone on the phone, insolent customers can feel their audacity levels ramp up to the maximum, spewing rudeness, entitlement, and general inhumanity at whomever stands in their way. Unfortunately for many customer service reps, call center workers, and online banking troubleshooters, their entire career is spent talking maniacs down from the seat of their high horse, which makes living targets for the cruelest jabs of unruly customers.
However, there are about a million cautionary fables and tales of hot-blooded reactionaries who met their maker after losing their cool. Although it's quite rare (as many customer service reps are trained to be docile doormats to the rudest of clientele) there are some shining moments in customer service work that give life to all of those who have ever been screamed at over the phone. So if you've ever dealt with a horribly angry customer at work, you'll enjoy this next story of a savage bank teller who got pushed to their limit and decided they weren't going to help one customer in particular.
If you treat me like trash, some day you're going to have to deal with the stink!
Scroll for the full account of a customer service rep who turned sticks and stones into a fortified wall, blocking a man from his bank account funds for good. Next, here's another story of a small win and petty revenge where a tenant's refusal to pay a $10 fee severely inconveniences their greedy landlord.
