customer who calls us must answer a few verification questions and if they hang up or answer wrong, we need to block their access to call center assuming it was an attempt to use someone else's account.
  • 03
Then, if they call again, every employee will see that the access to call center is denied and to do anything with their account, the caller has to personally go to the branch to unblock the access.

One time I was talking to a very rude customer who demanded everything done immediately. I told him I would happily do everything he asks for, but first he needs to answer the questions. He started yelling even louder, called me names as well as saying I'm unprofessional and hung up.
  • 05
So I blocked all of his accesses. Now he will be forced to go to the branch to unblock it and only then he will be able to do what he wanted. And oops, he mentioned that he was abroad, couldn't go to the branch and that's why he called us.

He thought I was unprofessional so I made sure I did everything according to our procedures, so he should be satisfied. My dear customer, enjoy not being able to use your money for a looong time!

Granted, you shouldn't be an to the person you choose to be in a relationship, but no one is perfect, and there are apologies/gestures of regret to offset the last one, when we inevitably there...and I'm not saying it's ok...but the others??? I don't get it.

newtonbase 4 hr. ago I worked in Council Tax. It was astounding how many people would demand that I go easy on them for non payment after insulting me. Petty revenge was easy in that job.

ForsakenBuilding6381 14 hr. ago For real. It's insane how far they'll go to help you if you treat them as a human being. Especially if you open up by asking how they're doing. Always gotta remember there's a person on the other side.

people will go out of their way to help you. If you act like a jerk, that's really going to demotivate them from wanting to help you, and might even lead to them spiting you.

oxmix74 7 hr. ago A bank customer service desk must strictly follow the customer authentication procedure. If they don't, the likelihood is high that they will create a vulnerability that a thief will use to access and drain a customer account. Maybe there are times when a banking service agent can bend the rules, but for certain authentication is not one of those times.

smoke25ofd 9 hr. ago I've had LOTS if customer calls drop because I am in cell service areas. I would HATE for them to force me to go to a branch to resolve a matter. Most local branches know me, anyway. Still, I am never rude on a customer call, even when frustrated. Rudeness rarely solves problems

Joltz-Voltz 6 hr. ago It's sad how people in customer service are treated. I once called the Amazon one and later in the email related to the thing got a message from the guy thanking me for being nice and patient. This was for something I thought was normal. It must be very common to be treated badly.
