'Did my employee rage-quit, or did I fire her?': Manager joins HR to figure out what to do about twice-fired employee

This is the mysterious case of one manager who isn't sure if she fired an employee, or if she quit. 

In any workplace, people will have personalities that mismatch. That can be a big issue if it's between a manager and someone they work with every single day. 

And this employee sounds like a hot mess to be honest. The OP, u/indieOsam, was one employee's manager, and she quickly realized that this worker was going to be a handful. 

There are a few bright red waving flags: for one, the employee was fired from the same company seven years prior! What kind of company rehires someone they had previously let go? That's just a major no-no for, well, almost every other company out there. Another issue with the employee was that she wasn't dressing appropriately for the workplace. The OP writes that she had to tell her employee that she shouldn't wear see-through leggings and sneakers during meetings with clients. This might seem like a common-sense thing to do, but the employee took this as an affront, and started telling her manager off instead.
