'He was begging for mercy': Pranksters get 'uno-reversed' by a passing cyclist, getting the scare of a lifetime after throwing rocks at a him

Pranks can easily go too far when you're young and dumb. Spurred by the jests and jeers of their fellow kin, kids don't have the restraint to resist being little dirt bags.  Who's going to teach them a lesson? But how can we, as civilized citizens of the world, help teens and kids learn when they've gone too far with a prank? Scare them straight, of course. 

In our next story, one man took it upon himself to teach a group of young hooligans the difference between right and wrong when it comes to social civility in public and if it were one of my kids he imposed his teachings on, I'd buy that man a beer.

  • When a prank goes way too far, for instance if pranksters start irreversibly damaging property or hurting bystanders, that's the moment that it's everyone's duty to set the record straight. For example, if you caught a couple of kids throwing rocks at passersby, that might be the time to trn back and say something to them. 

  • Well when u/karnasaurus, an avid cyclist and part-time civil servant, felt a couple stone hit his back while riding his bike in the streets of London, he turned to find a group of kiddos that could use a stern talking to… Or perhaps he could make this a teachable moment they'd never forget.     This happened around 2010. I was cycling around Harringay, Green Lanes where I lived at the time. The area is gentrified now but at the time it was considered to be a bit rough by London standards. Those familiar with the area know that there are narrow alleyways that connect up all the side roads, off of Green Lanes.

    So as I'm cycling, I pass one of these alleyways and see a group of rowdy kids messing around inside the alley. There are four of them, aged maybe 11-12 and they are making alot of noise, as kids do. As I cycle past, they go all quiet. I turn my head and catch one of them throwing a stone at me,

To be honest, I wasn't even that mad. But in that moment I decide to make this a teachable moment for the little I, and to make sure that he will never forget me.

I slammed on my breaks, threw it in reverse, and backed up real quick. Little guy went tearin back into his house like his was on fire.
