Every cat owner knows and will be purrfectly willing to admit that cats… are weird when it comes to food. Well, cats are weird all the time, but especially about food. We don't know why, but every single cat seems to have a food habit that is… questionable. Some cats are obsessed with bread. Other cats like to eat cucumbers. We have even seen a cat that is obsessed with an almond. And no, the cat doesn't eat it, it hunts the almond.
When it comes to food, cats will make a choice about what they like, and they will accept nothing else. They will starve themselves before they eat food that they deem to be subpar. And if the only food that is acceptable to them is the most expensive, hard-to-get food on the market… well, then you, human, will simply have to deal with that. And tell us about it so that we can laugh at you, thanks.
They do it on purpose. We are sure that they do. Somehow, they can tell what the most expensive, most annoying, most inconvenient thing is, and they choose to do it. It's probably our fault. It's in our eyes. We give away what would be this most annoying thing our expression, and they read it on our faces, so we can only really blame ourselves.
Just remember: not all food is good for all cats. If you have these kids of shenanigans happening in your house, stay on the safe side, talk to your cat's vet.
And still, no matter how annoying and inconvenient they may be or make our lives sometimes, we cannot help but be completely whipped for them. We love them. So much. Too much. And we will do anything for them, so… they can afford to be annoying.
