Dogsitting is one of the best gigs out there. You literally get paid to hang out at somebody's house and play with their dog. That's literally the dream! The week I got to dogsit my sister's friend's dog during the summer of 2019 felt like a total vacation. Literally, all that was asked of me was to keep this dog alive, and I could do that easy peasy. I watched YouTube videos on their big TV, slept in a big bed, and scratched the tucus of a really cute pup.
Recently, a debate about the definition of "dogsitting" arose on Twitter, and it has dog owners in a tissy. A woman claimed she was dogsitting. Her friend asked her whose dog she was looking after, and she said "her own." Whether you can dogsit your own dog became a hot topic of debate, which has an unusually unanimous answer: "No."
