New jobs, new hires, and the New Year always seem to go hand in hand. The steps are incredulously tiring, the interviews are long, and the nerves continuously build until you get the hang of it all. Everyone wants to get their dream job… but few ever do. Sound sad? It is. Basically, there are four steps involved in getting your dream job. That's what we're told, anyway. The negotiating phase (salary-wise) of getting hired feels as hard as getting into Harvard. Or maybe I just don't know how to advocate for myself and it takes me some extra effort… Who even knows?

Getting a new job sounds easy enough in principle, but it can be difficult to stay composed, and project confidence when you really have no idea what you're doing.
