The holidays are a time for giving, heck it's called ThanksGIVING, isn't it?? It's about showing empathy and compassion. That can easily be done in an animal shelter. These pets are meant for domestication, instead they are family-less and, if you're an animal lover like us, it breaks your heart every time you see all the animals in the shelter. WE JUST WANT TO ADOPT THEM ALL! Unfortunately, it would be irresponsible to adopt all the shelter animals in need… Unless you're like a family or friend unit of 15 with like 100 acres of land. (The dream.) Even then, it's tricky. So the next best thing you can do for shelter animals (other than adopt and/or foster) is to volunteer!
You can see, immediately, from these shelter volunteers that feeding these pups and kittens is beyond fulfilling. This year's wholesome-o-meter went through the ROOF once we found out that some shelters create an animal-friendly feast for the animals so they can have their own Thanksgiving meal as a shelter family.
This shelter, Benton Franklin Humane Society in Washington state, have many doggos and kittos waiting for families and in the meantime, the shelter volunteers shower them with love and provide them with extra full bellies. IT'S WHOLESOME AND ADORABLE AND DOGONE I DID NOT THINK I WOULD BE CRYING THIS EARLY IN THE HOLIDAY SEASON!
