There's a popular, dare I say timeless trend going around the dating apps and it's definitely not pictures of shirtless men from every angle. Sorry guys, we know you're trying to impress us girls, but that's not the way to do it. Being a dog mom, or dog dad for that matter is now a sought out quality on the dating apps. Guys are actively seeking out a partner that owns a furry bundle of joy. Maybe it's the fact that being a dog mom is innately a maternal quality men are seeking or maybe they are looking for women to do all the dirty work of training a dog before committing to a relationship. Either way, guys are very serious about this criteria.
I can attest to how many conversations guys start with me on the apps just based on my dog alone. Their opening line always starts out the same way with them telling me how cute she is and asking me a ton of questions about her name, age, weight. It seems overly personal now that I think about it. I find it funny they seemingly want to know more about my dog than about me. I can't be too upset about it though, it's kind of endearing.
It's probably not the best idea to go out and purchase a dog causing a life-altering event just to get a date, but if you have friends with dogs, it never hurts to put them in your dating app profile pics.
