Do you like scary movies? We love scary movies, even though we don't actually find them scary. Sure, when we were 12, we were absolutely terrified by Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. But after seeing a few of these films, they became less scary and more of an obsession. We no longer watched them from behind the blanket with one eye shut. On the contrary, we leaned forward so we could see every knife stab and every bone break as clearly as possible.
But not because we're secretly psychotic. We just wanted to know how. How are they making these scenes look so realistic? How did they make that fake blood look so good? That's probably when horror movies became more frightening to the people watching alongside us. They were horrified by the violence on the screen, but they were much more afraid by the giant smile on our faces.
