While dating someone outside of your culture can be very exciting, anyone who has actually done it knows that it's not always a walk in the park. On the one hand, yes, you discover new traditions, foods, beliefs, and perspectives. It is a fascinating way to broaden one's perspective and learn about the wonders of this world. Additionally, learning about each other's cultures and backgrounds can help nurture and strengthen your bond. 

On the other hand, however, differences in customs and traditions can lead to conflicts, misunderstandings, and many confusions. Especially, if you add a language barrier into the mix. For example, what might be considered polite or normal in one culture, may be completely the opposite in another. That's why open communication is key in multi-cultural relationships.
