As the world progresses and modernizes, so do our outlooks and views on pretty much anything and everything in this world. And yes, that includes dating. Think about it, just a few decades ago people weren't allowed to date outside of their village let alone culture. But fast forward to now, we have the freedom to date and marry anyone we want, and not be forced into arranged marriages against our wills. Thank god… amiright?
Well, if you've ever dated someone outside your culture you know that it's a never-ending journey of trying new foods, hearing (and learning) new words, and exploring new traditions. And who wouldn't love that?
While intercultural relationships have a lot of pros, they come with just as many cons (in some cases, even more). See, on top of the usual relationship barriers such as communication and/or trust issues - there's now a whole language and cultural barrier to work through. It does get exhausting but when done right and more importantly, with the right person - it can be well worth it.
